Grateful for our community and our collective efforts to support each other! Thanks to @clayakar for the Yunomi show, this fundraiser and for all you do for our field, and thanks @thestudiopotter for sharing this and reminding me of this essay from 2010. It meant so much to have this essay published in Studio Potter and it is a resource that I continue to use and to share with my students!

“When I think of a boundary, certain visual connotations emerge. I think of borders between countries, sections in the grocery store, an imagined or actual line that separates one thing or idea from another. A boundary can also become a thing in itself, distinct and independent from that which it separates. Other times, the boundary may become absorbed into what it is separating.” – Sanam Emami

Exerpt from “In Search of Boundaries” by Sanam Emami, published in Summer/Fall 2010, Vol. 38, No. 2.

This yunomi, by Sanam Emami @sanamemami, is for sale in the ClayAKAR @clayakar Yunomi show, and the proceeds have been donated to the Studio Potter writers fund. Access to art should not be limited by financial barriers. By donating, you help break down these walls, creating opportunities for authorship and for readers to experience and engage with the transformative power of clay.

Follow the link in our bio to see all of the yunomi for sale. Thank you to Sanam for your past authorship and contributions to our clay community. Your contributions – past and present – makes an immeasurable difference

Such a treat to spend a few days teaching and learning from each other, and we had such a stellar and curious group of participants, phenomenal assistants and staff! I’m feeling very grateful

What an honor to have these incredible women leading a workshop at CCC the past weekend! Thank you @jenallenceramics and @sanamemami for sharing your techniques and skills with us.

A huge thank you to @eldoradostaygold for hosting our cocktail hour and artist talk, it was truly a special evening!

CCC’s current exhibition, Women Working with Clay, features both Jen and Sanam’s work as well as other former presenters from the @women_working_with_clay_symp. It will remain on display in the CCC Gallery until August 16th. Be sure to check it out. Thank you to our exhibition sponsor @coco.real.aspen!

Huge thx to @bugaboo_eyes for inviting me to teach and to @fxlxn for being an amazing assistant and for your insight and participation and so fun and inspiring to teach alongside @santoferraro

Thanks to everyone who was able to take the workshop! What a lovely group of humans who asked great questions and were game for trying lots of new things including a cake stand (my first)!

Here’s a sampling of things I saw, made, cut, our class collaborative plate, and our class conversation at the end of the week!
